Tender

We always love the opportunity to tender as often we are invited to research a product or products from a fresh perspective.

Initially, the whole team gets involved in a brainstorm session, guaranteed to air some ‘off the wall ideas’! Then a dedicated team deliver the creative proposals/ strategy/ schedules along with the required budgets.

We’ve chosen a few juicy pieces from our recent Market Deepings Tender – to give you the flavour.

What will you discover?

Just in from the printer. Just delivered to LCC. A series of Library Leaflets we've designed and printed for LCC promoting the fantastic free facilities and opening times of regional libraries across Lincolnshire as part of the ‘discover libraries' initiative. Libraries have changed a lot since my day - DVD loans, computers and internet access not to mention lots for children and young people. Plus everyone is a member. Perfect recession busting entertainment!

A Dozen Delicious Leaflets on Lincoln Heritage

I really admire Lincolnshire County Council’s vision for creating a county of culture. All my designers get to hot desk it a couple of times a week at our satellite office at The Terrace in Lincoln. It’s the hub of the cultural quarter and they love it!  But our latest project for LCC revealed how Lincolnshire’s cultural heritage reaches way beyond the city limits. We won a tough pitch to design, artwork and print a series of 12 museum leaflets. With new photography too, so I’ve been to Stamford, Grantham, Skegness, Cranwell, Sleaford and just round the corner to The Collection to capture the array of amazing attractions that we’re lucky enough to have on our doorstep. Personal favourite? Church Farm, Skegness, without a doubt. Victorian farm life brought to life.

Wonderful Walking Leaflets

With our HQ being in the Lincolnshire Wolds we thoroughly enjoyed working on the series of 7 walking leaflets for East Lindsey. Echoing the style of our History Matters designs for East Lindsey, they're clear, easy to follow and each promotes 3 towns to show off the very best of rural Lincolnshire from coast to countryside. Best of all, our client had the vision to go for a decent weight of paper with a seal giving the leaflets a great quality look and feel that will also shrug off a shower whilst plotting your route.

On the trail of Tennyson

We’ve loved working with East Lindsey District Council on this fascinating part of Lincolnshire’s cultural history. We designed and printed an info-packed foldaway A2 leaflet for the Tennyson Trail that takes visitors around the towns and villages of East & West Lindsey. There’s an amazing amount to see and do around the locations that gave him inspiration for his Alfred Tennyson’s poems. The route starts at Louth and takes a 12-point trip to Grasby but you can join it at any point along the way.

We also created Tourist Information Points (TIPs) that tell the story through interpretation boards in frames to suit their rural locations. Finally, we were delighted when Alison invited us to attend the launch of the Tennyson Trail on 17th March 2009. It’s not often we get to see first hand how our creative work is brought to life.

'Pack It In’

We love working with Lincolnshire County Council on their excellent ‘Pack It In’ campaign. This campaign was devised to help raise awareness about the damage excessive packaging causes to the environment and to encourage businesses to take that extra step in becoming more environmentally friendly.

Obviously this is an issue that affects us all and we at the studio were very enthusiastic to play a part in getting the message across. Items with lasting value like key rings, stickers, pens and eco friendly reusable fabric bags (sourced locally and made in the UK) were the tools we used, combining the informative with the practical.

You can find out more about the ‘Pack It In’ campaign by emailing packitin@lincolnshire.gov.uk

NEW Travel Right Transport Pack for Lincolnshire County Council

We recently produced this Travel Right Transport Pack. It’s an easy reference guide on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council for schools and school run operators. It covers all eventualities and legal responsibilities in an easy to read colour coded pack. It’s always a challenge to take this kind of detailed information and present it in a meaningful way. As such it was a pitch we were delighted to win, not least because so much work went in to developing the idea and pulling it all together to provide real benefit for all the stakeholders.

Award winning client! Congratulations to Neil Dowlman Architecture

We have just done a series of advertisements for valued client Neil Dowlman Architecture.

One of those ads, announced that Neil and his team have just picked up the prestigious LABC Award for Innovative Design Solutions for past projects.

Many congratulations to everyone at the company. It’s a superb achievement. Here is an example of his work, taken from the corporate brochure we created for Neil last year. You can find more fabulous examples of the company’s award winning design on the website at http://www.neildowlman-architecture.co.uk/

City Graphics think BIG for the Lincolnshire Assembly

We’ve been working on a great countywide initiative for the Lincolnshire Assembly to find out how Lincolnshire communities want our county to develop over the next 25 years.

Our concept illustrates the diversity of Lincolnshire folk through feet. It’s not often that us designers (returning native Yellow Bellies like me and a smattering of enlightened incomers) are both creatives and models on the same piece of work! But, here it was the best solution to shoot a mix of footwear in-house to create the right look and feel, as well as meet tight deadlines to deliver the print in time for launch at The Lincolnshire Show.

We’re looking forward to the results. If you want to get involved take a look at the website for more details http://www.lincolnshireassembly.com

Superior cereals showcased in Nickerson’s new corporate brochure

Delivering the marketing collateral for international seed company Nickerson is always fun. As a client they are creative, clever and always enthusiastic about using strong imagery and concepts. That’s why we were delighted to create their new corporate brochure launched for the Cereals show this June in Lincoln.

It is a pleasure for us, that our client believed in a nice weight of paper and special finishes. The result is an impressive brochure that gets not just held a lot (artists are a tactile bunch, stroking their favourite brochures etc), but ‘held up’ as an example of what high quality design and print can truly achieve. We are proud to have it in our portfolio and hope they are too.

City Graphics Partnership takes Onlincolnshire.net to the next level

Having worked on the launch of Onlincolnshire’s Advanced Broadband campaign in 2006, we were delighted to win the pitch to deliver the creative services for phase two.

Branded as The ICT Innovation Portfolio, so far we have designed and printed the portfolio pack itself and created an advertising campaign with a series of press ads promoting the service to qualifying SMEs in the Objective 2 areas of Lincolnshire.

There are three key products available through this initiative; Free ICT Innovation Advice, ICT Innovation Grant and an Advanced Broadband Connection Subsidy. As our client, Steve Cargill, the Broadband Project Manager said ‘the combination of providing independent ICT consultants to offer free impartial help and advice, and the additional funding for ICT innovation projects linked to access to Advanced Broadband services, gives Lincolnshire businesses a unique opportunity to move forward.’

We are enthusiastic advocates for the service as we have taken part in both phases and would recommend it to any of our clients who qualify. You can learn so much from the highly experienced consultants to help drive your business forward. If you’re interested, just find out more by following the link to onlincolnshire.net and easily check your eligibility and apply online for the portfolio.

Summer in the City

We’re feeling all summery in the studio as we put the finishing touches to a feel-good campaign we were lucky enough to win for City of Lincoln Council and Lincolnshire Tourism. It’s all about promoting Lincoln’s Summer in the City and Waterfront Festival so we came up with a striking, versatile logo to unite both festivals and tie in with the county’s corporate id. There’s stacks of great free stuff to do, appealing to all ages, and you don’t have to be a tourist to take advantage of what’s on your doorstep so make sure you check it out. Summer in the City covers July to Sept and the Waterfront Festival is on 21st and 22nd July at Brayford Waterfront. Find out more at www.lincoln.gov.uk and www.visitlincolnshire.com and look out for that logo!

Kenwick Park New Websites Go Live!

Kenwick Park New Websites Go Live! After a lot of hard work, not least from the clients themselves in getting all the content together, the two new websites for Kenwick Park have gone live. Already they’re benefiting from the new fully updateable management system which makes it easy for the Kenwick team to keep content topical and benefit from online booking systems. On both sites the system fully integrates with the back office systems for seamless administration. As well as design, build and hosting, we took some great new photography and 360° virtual tours that show off the amazing location and facilities here in Lincolnshire. So whether you’re looking for a little personal pampering, business conference venue or a complete break, check out what’s on offer at www.kenwick-park.co.uk and www.kenwickwoods.com

Lincoln – here we come!

To keep up with the demand for City Graphics Partnership’s work in Lincoln and provide our clients with an even better service, we’re delighted to be opening a second satellite office in the heart of Lincoln’s Cultural Quarter. We’ll be on the doorstep for a 'drop-in' service in the county’s capital from July 2007 if all goes to plan. Watch this space for more details.

P.S. HQ remains at The Old Chapel, Tealby in the heart of the Wolds, for clients who like to escape to the rural idyll once in a while.

Towards the end of 2006 we were delighted to win a highly competitive tender to deliver the name. logo and corporate id for this exciting new project in Lincoln bringing together diverse creative industries under one roof. As a design agency, we have been involved with the city’s regeneration for over 10 years, so we were thrilled to get this job and as always, gave it our all, working closely with the team at City of Lincoln Council – their enthusiasm is catching!

Keep your eyes open for the imminent launch to be unveiled soon.

Townscape Heritage Initiative

I’ve really enjoyed working on this tender to create a new brand identity for the Townscape Heritage Initiative for the City of Lincoln Council. We’ve created a logo, folder, information booklets and a grant application form to encourage people to apply for grants from Lincoln Townscape Heritage Initiative, the Heritage Lottery Fund and English Heritage to preserve and renovate historic buildings. Our studio is in a Methodist Chapel built in 1819 which appears unchanged from the outside, so preserving old buildings is right up our street!

Crazy Christmas Market Season

If you love Lincoln, you’ve got to love the Christmas market. It’s world famous, so it was great to win the tender to create the Visitors Fact Sheets promoting all the highlights as well as clearly get across the factual stuff like where to park, opening times etc. We created one for residents too, to ensure the smooth running of this visitor attraction for yet another year.
